Voter Registration Deadline is October 1

The deadline to register to vote in the October 16 special election for a new library in Derby, is Monday, October 1.
You should register with the Sedgwick County Election Office if: you just moved to Sedgwick County; just turned 18 or will be 18 before the next election; just became a United States citizen; or if you have never voted in Sedgwick County. You should re-register if: you moved within Sedgwick County; changed your name; or want to change your party affiliation.
If you registered to vote many years ago but have not voted since 1996, you may have been purged from the voter registration system and need to re-register. If you have voted since 1996 you will still be on the registration list.
If you are not sure if you qualify to vote or want to confirm that you are registered to vote, please call the Sedgwick County Election Office at 660-1700. Filling out a new form only takes a few minutes, and it will update your signature as well.
On June 12, 2007, the Derby City Council voted to hold a special election for registered voters in Derby to decide whether a new library should be built. If approved, the library would be financed using a half-cent sales tax to begin after the aquatic park half-cent sales tax ends, likely in 2010. The aquatic park half-cent sales tax was originally projected to end December 31, 2016. Due to favorable city-wide sales tax collections, the sales tax is now anticipated to sunset early, likely in 2010.

206 W. Greenway
- Derby Recreation Commission
801 E. Market
- Dillons
317 N. Rock Rd.
200 E. Greenway
On October 16, polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the following locations in Derby:
Precincts 11, 14, 21
Pleasantview Baptist Church, 1335 N. Buckner
Precincts 31, 41, 42
Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn
Precincts 12, 13, 22, 32
Calvary Baptist Church, 1635 E. Patriot Ave.
