City of Derby News Release
City Installs Signage for Truck Routes
August 29, 2011
The City of Derby recently installed signs for established truck routes in the city limits. Trucks with a gross weight in excess of 20,000 pounds are not allowed on any streets except on established truck routes unless making deliveries in the city.
The truck routes include:
- Highway K-15 from the north city boundary to the south city boundary
- Rock Road from the north city boundary to the south city boundary
- Patriot Avenue from the west city boundary to the east city boundary
- Market Street from Highway K-15 to the west city boundary
The truck routes were approved by the City Council in June 2010 with the passing of Ordinance No. 2022 and provide exception for intracity deliveries which require trucks to use the most direct route to each location.
The Truck Routes map is available on the city website and available for viewing at City Hall, 611 Mulberry Rd., and Derby Police & Courts, 229 N. Baltimore.
