City of Derby News Release
Join us for Public Works Week at High Park
May 9, 2008
Have you ever wondered how our city maintains its streets, parks and equipment? From paint striping to GIS (Geographic Information Systems), the City of Derby Public Works Department does it all and more. Come and learn all about the things the city does at the Public Works Week observance at High Park on May 21 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Public Works Week has been a national tradition since 1960. The week was established to raise awareness of public works issues and to increase confidence in public works employees who are dedicated to continually improving the quality of life for present and future generations.
During the two days, public works employees will provide hands-on demonstrations and showcase the department’s equipment. The Derby Optimist Club will also be on hand with a moonwalk and fresh popped popcorn.
If you have questions, please contact the Public Works & Parks Department at 788-0301.
