Municipal Court
The Derby Municipal Court is dedicated to providing fair, efficient, professional and effective disposition of all matters within its jurisdiction.
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction of violations of City ordinances for traffic cases and other types of cases, such as fire code and property violations along with other misdemeanor criminal matters. All other more serious criminal matters are handled through the District Court.
Derby Municipal Court is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fines can be paid by cash, credit card, money order, or check during these hours or dropped off in a depository box located in the lobby of the police department by the court clerk's window. The lobby is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
