2009 Goals

Goal setting is an important tool for every City department, including the Fire & Rescue department. Fire Chief Brad Smith established the goals listed below for the year 2009:

1. Develop working relationships with surrounding fire departments.

2. Develop at least one disaster exercise for City of Derby emergency response personnel.

3. Maintain and ISO rating of 3 or less.

4. Educate all Kindergarten, 1st and -2nd grade students in Derby in the fundamentals of fire safety.

5. Respond to all calls in Derby four minutes or less 90% of the time.

6. Maintain a record of zero fire fatalities.
