2008 Goals

Goal setting is an important tool for every City department, including the Fire & Rescue department. Fire Chief Brad Smith set the four goals listed below for the year 2008:

1. Maintain an ISO rating of 4 or less.
(An ISO rating is a fire protection rating used to establish fire insurance premiums for residential and commercial properties).

2. Respond to all calls in the City limits within 4 minutes.

3. Educate all K-2nd grade students on the fundamentals of fire safety.
(This is generally accomplished during National Fire Prevention Week in October).

4. Maintain a record of zero fire fatalities.
