City Hall

The Finance Department includes a number of administrative duties crucial to efficient and effective delivery of local government services. While many of these functions take place behind the scene, they are fundamental to the smooth operation of other city departments.

Finance
Jean Epperson

Epperson also serves as City Clerk, with responsibility for many basic governmental functions including record keeping of official council proceedings, certification of all ordinances and resolutions, issuance of certain licenses and permits (e.g. cereal malt beverages) administration of official oaths for boards and commissions, and serves as the Freedom of Information coordinator. Debt management also falls under the purview of the Finance Director/City Clerk.

Melinda Scott, Payroll

The Accounting division coordinates payroll, accounts payable and receivable, monthly accounting, budget preparation and purchasing activities. The city follows all Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) in order to provide prudent management of public funds.

Other portions of this department include Risk Management activities, which are centralized in order to protect city assets against property liability and loss.
