Community Development Department:
Comprehensive Plan
The Comprehensive Plan vision expresses the hopes and dreams of Derby and is a statement of where the community sees itself in 2030 - and the years beyond.
The core principle embedded in the Derby Comprehensive Plan is to maintain and enhance the health, safety, and welfare of our community during times of change, and to promote our ideals and values as changes occur.
The Comprehensive Plan is specific to Derby and it recognizes the features that make our community distinctive. The plan is a combination of common sense and vision, and provides principles for sustaining healthy, vitality and the rich quality of life that characterizes our community.
Bucher Willis and Ratliff, based in Kansas City, Missouri, was the contracting firm used to create the comprehensive plan document. If you have any questions regarding the Comprehensive Plan, please contact City Planner Bud Newberry at 316-788-6632 or via email.
