City of Derby News Release
Christmas Tree Recycling Begins December 22
December 15, 2011
Recycling Christmas trees is easy. The City of Derby, in cooperation with Sedgwick County, will open its Christmas tree recycle lot at High Park, 2700 E. Madison, on December 22. The recycle lot, also known as the Chip Site, is located northwest corner of the park.
Trees can be dropped off beginning December 22 through January 23 from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The lot will be open every day and will accept only undecorated Christmas trees during this period. Free mulch will also be available to Derby residents.
The High Park Chip Site is open year round and accepts tree limbs and branches no larger than 10 inches in diameter. Winter hours (November-March) are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
