Celebrate Trees at the Derby Arbor Day Celebration

You’re invited to the annual City of Derby Arbor Day Celebration on Thursday, April 21 at 6:00 p.m. This fun, family event celebrating trees will take place at the High Park enclosed shelter, 2700 E. Madison.
The Arbor Day Celebration will include:
- - Presentation of the Tree City USA and Arbor Day flags
- - 150 Years of Kansas Planting presentation by Dr. Jason Griffin, Parks & Urban Forestry Board
- - Planting of the Arbor Day tree
- - Appearance by Sprig the Squirrel

Moonwalk, popcorn, and bean bag toss provided by the Derby Optimist Club

Lollipop tree, duck pond, balloons, and temporary tattoos provided by the City of Derby

Tree seedlings and refreshments (hot dogs, chips and cookies) also provided by the City of Derby
Derby has been recognized as a Tree City USA recipient for 18 consecutive years. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
This event is being organized by the City of Derby and the Derby Parks & Urban Forestry Board.
