Agency Assists Seniors with DTV Conversion
January 16, 2009
The Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) will offer an educational presentation at the Derby Senior Center, 611 Mulberry Rd., on February 11 at 2:00 p.m. to review the Digital TV (DTV) transition and what it means to those not subscribing to cable television or other paid service. Attendees will learn about the digital transition, why it’s happening, how to assess the need for a converter box, where to access converter boxes and how to install a converter box.
CPAAA will also offer individualized assistance to those in need of one-on-one assistance with the DTV transition. If you or someone you know needs assistance or would like to schedule a presentation, contact the CPAAA at 660-5120.
CPAAA is also looking for volunteers to assist with converter box installation and providing education to the recipient about the new technology. Training will be provided.
For additional information on this program or other programs serving older adults or to serve as a volunteer, contact 660-5120 or (800) 367-7298 or visit www.cpaaa.org.
