City of Derby News Release
Partner With Us! City Seeks A.C.E. Grant Proposals
Receive up to $2,500 in grant funding for your artistic, cultural or entertainment event in Derby
January 11, 2008
The Artistic, Cultural, and Entertainment Grant (A.C.E) is a grant program offered by the City of Derby to encourage diversity in Derby’s entertainment, artistic, and cultural offerings. A.C.E.-sponsored programs and events contribute to Derby’s quality of life by drawing people to Derby activities and events for their leisure time.
Grant proposals will be accepted throughout the month of February. For more information, including a grant application, visit the A.C.E. Grant web page here.
“The funds from the A.C.E. Grant were critical in getting Summerfest started,” said Derek Smith, Summerfest organizer and member of the Derby Community Coalition Promoting Healthy Choices. “Other organizations were more willing to step in and participate when they knew the City of Derby was a partner. The event had a great turnout, and many kids were exposed to a variety of healthy activities.”
A maximum of $2,500 per application will be awarded. Some restrictions for use of funds do apply. Proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee and approved by the City Council. Deadline for applications is February 29, 2008.
