City Tree Lighting Set for December 3

Pull out your hats and mittens for the City of Derby’s 4th Annual Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. Join us at the enclosed shelter at High Park, 2700 E. Madison for this fun, family event.
Here’s what to expect:
- Lighting of the city tree by Mayor Dion Avello
- Special holiday music by the Pleasantview Baptist Church Choir
- Visit by Santa Claus, with photos by Walgreens
- Derby Fire & Rescue Department Smoke House and holiday fire prevention tips
- Hot chocolate, cookies, and fresh popcorn
- A hayride shuttle and Derby Dash will be available to take attendees to and from the shelter
The first 300 attendees will receive “Christmas in Our Town” recyclable shopping bags. This shopping promotion, sponsored by the Derby Chamber of Commerce, is designed to encourage residents to shop local this holiday season.
