Communications

The Communications Division works under the direction of the City Manager's office and serves as the point of contact for communication and marketing activities citywide.

The division coordinates Derby's brand and image, keeps the community informed, handles media calls/interviews, and promotes all aspects of quality of life in the community.

Responsibilities


Derby BBQ Festival


This division also plans and executes the annual Derby BBQ Festival. The event is held in September at High Park. It includes a pro and backyard competition, anything bacon contest, People's Choice competition, kid's chocolate chip cookie contest, live music, beer garden, food trucks, car show, kid's area and more.

The Communications Division works with marketing partners throughout the city:
