McConnell Air Force Base Selected as Main Operating Base for KC-46A Refueling Tanker

The Kansas Congressional Delegation announced on May 22 that McConnell AFB will be the Main Operating Base for the KC-46A refueling tanker. McConnell, our neighbor to the north, plays an important role in the economy of Derby and the Wichita area.

County Seeks Feedback on Spring Creek Watershed

In Sedgwick County, many residents are affected by flooding, erosion, and water quality issues stemming from the Spring Creek Watershed. Since the majority of Derby residents are in the water shed area, they are encouraged to take the Spring Creek Watershed Survey. It will be available through May 23.

Derby is looking for a new volunteer to serve on its Senior Services Advisory Board. Information on the board and an application can be found on the Boards and Commissions page. Applications are due June 25.
